A full time post-doctoral research position is available for a period of one year at the Università del Piemonte Orientale “Amedeo Avogadro”, Alessandria (Italy), on "NMR relaxometric characterization of Gd-based systems for the development of dual imaging probes".
Our lab is part of the European COST Action D38, ”Metal-based Systems for Molecular Imaging Application” and our research activities are aimed at developing efficient Imaging Probes based on Gd(III) complexes. Within the frame of a Regional Project on Innovative Platform for Medical Imaging and in collaboration with academic and industrial partners (University of Turin, Bracco Imaging, Advanced Accelerator Applications, Fluody), we are committed at the synthesis and characterization of innovative dual PET-MRI, SPECT-MRI and MRI-optical probes for the synergistic exploitation of the peculiar properties of the two diagnostic techniques. After complete physico-chemical characterization, these Imaging probes will be tested in vitro and in vivo with Magnetic Resonance Imaging on tumors and other cardiovascular or neurological pathologies.
Candidates are expected to have a PhD degree in Chemistry with a background in coordination chemistry and proven experience in NMR spectroscopy.

The laboratory of Structural and Functional Glycobiology (UGSF - CNRS UMR 8576) at the University of Lille, France, is looking for a research engineer to manage the liquid state part of the NMR Platform at the University. Composed of several Bruker spectrometers, including a 900MHz Avance III instrument with cryogenic probehead and a SampleJet, a 800MHz Avance III spectrometer for solid state and HRMAS NMR, the platform has the specificity within the national network of high-field NMR (www.tgir-rmn.org) of combining expertise in liquid and solid state NMR.
The applications of high resolution biomolecular NMR at the UGSF cover most types of biomolecules, with a particular accent on oligosaccharides and proteins, and their interactions. Research at the UGSF aims to develop novel methods (pulse sequences, reduction of sample size, use of sample changer, HRMAS) and novel instrumentation to improve the quality of the measurements, and extract maximal information for the biological systems of interest.
The ideal candidate will be in charge of the maintenance of the different spectrometers, relations with the constructor, planning of the experiments, and set-up of the experiments for novel and experienced users. He/she will play an important role in choosing and implementing existing and novel NMR experiences, and will be particularly involved with the set-up of automatic screening protocols of molecular interactions.

Genentech Postdoctoral Fellow: Structural Biology/NMR Spectroscopy
We have an opportunity for a highly talented Postdoctoral Fellow to join the Protein NMR Group in the Structural Biology Department at Genentech. Our research encompasses the structural analysis of proteins of therapeutic interest, with an emphasis on determining their conformations and ligand-binding properties.
Genentech is now applying our expertise in protein expression, assay development, antibody engineering and drug design to pursue some of the most challenging therapeutic targets in the human proteome, including G protein-coupled receptors and ion channels. The successful candidate will focus their postdoctoral research on the NMR structural analysis of human membrane proteins involved in ion transport and the mechanisms of their functional regulation. The interaction of these proteins with potent and selective antibody fragments, peptides and/or small molecule inhibitors will also be examined. Significant progress on the high-level expression and purification of the proposed membrane structural targets has already been achieved. Moreover, you would be working with a highly collaborative group of scientists whose expertise includes protein NMR spectroscopy, soluble and membrane protein crystallography, ion channel electrophysiology and assay development.
The protein NMR facility includes dedicated 800, 600, and 500 MHz spectrometers, Linux workstations, a fully equipped protein expression and purification lab with expertise in membrane protein production, and access to the Central California 900 MHz spectrometer.
