What will happen if we don't nurture the next generation of scientists?
The Globe and Mail
I have spent my career developing nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy to study biological molecules. I have used this technology to study the properties of proteins, to see how they change their shapes and move in ways that influence the things ...

[Question from NMRWiki Q&A forum] What will happen if I use long pulse?
What will happen if I use long pulse? Hello everybody. We have an AVANCE 500 MHz bruker instrument. Unfortunately, our amplifier has been weakened and I can not reach 90 degree pulse for X nuclei channel. When I increase the power (decrease the Pl in XWin NMR) my signal always grow. I am going to use long pulses with duration of 80 microsecond to 100 microsecond or even more to reach 90 degree pulse instead of common pulses which are about 10 microsecond. Is this situation hurt any part of instrument? Or I only lose current broad excitation band and will be forced to take several spectrum...

GeNMR - template-based structure generation from NMR data
GeNMR website GeNMR (GEnerate NMR structures) is a web server for template-based or ab initio generation of 3D protein structures using NOE-derived distance restraints and NMR chemical shifts. The web server produces an ensemble of PDB coordinates within a period ranging from 20 minutes to 4 hours, depending on protein size, server load, quality and type of experimental information, and selected protocol options.
