Default How does removal and re-installation of probe affect shims?

How does removal and re-installation of probe affect shims?

If you remove and later (not too much later) reinstall the probe and you are confident that probe position inside the magnet does not change at all - would you expect the shim set to change?

Do eddy currents due to probe movement affect field homogeneity?

Thanks.

[Question from NMRWiki Q&A forum] Tuning probe failed after a dual probe was replaced with a BBI probe
Tuning probe failed after a dual probe was replaced with a BBI probe We generally use Dual to run 13C and BBI to run 2D. After changed the probe, the command "edhead" was used to set the probe. Put the sample tube, lock the solvent, and then type "atma" to tune the probe. We always do it like this, but now we can not tune the proton after installed the BBI probe (13C is OK). The dip can not be found by "atma", and "atmm" was also not work on forming a dip. What is the most possible reason for this error? How to solve it and avoid it in the future ? Thanks. Future Med Chem. 2010 Sep 1;2(9):1451-1468 Authors: Gay SC, Roberts AG, Halpert JR Cytochromes P450 (P450s) play a major role in the clearance of drugs, toxins, and environmental pollutants. Additionally, metabolism by P450s can result in toxic or carcinogenic products. The metabolism of...

Automated solvent artifact removal and base plane correction of multidimensional NMR
Abstract Strong solvent signals lead to a disappearance of weak protein signals close to the solvent resonance frequency and to base plane variations all over the spectrum. AUREMOL-SSA provides an automated approach for solvent artifact removal from multidimensional NMR protein spectra. Its core algorithm is based on singular spectrum analysis (SSA) in the time domain and is combined with an automated base plane correction in the frequency domain. The performance of the method has been tested on synthetic and experimental spectra including two-dimensional NOESY and TOCSY spectra and a...
