Default High-efficiency low-power (13)C-(15)N cross polarization in MAS NMR

High-efficiency low-power (13)C-(15)N cross polarization in MAS NMR

Biomolecular solid-state magic angle spinning (MAS) NMR spectroscopy frequently relies on selective ^(13)C-^(15)N magnetization transfers, for various kinds of correlation experiments. Introduced in 1998, spectrally induced filtering in combination with cross polarization (SPECIFIC-CP) is a selective heteronuclear magnetization transfer experiment widely used for biological applications. At MAS frequencies below 20 kHz, commonly used for ^(13)C-detected MAS NMR experiments, SPECIFIC-CP transfer...

[NMR paper] Combined H-N Cross-Polarization and Carbonyl Detection NMR Spectroscopy Allow to Record High-Resolution, High-Sensitivity Spectra of Alpha-Synuclein in Bacterial Cells
Combined H-N Cross-Polarization and Carbonyl Detection NMR Spectroscopy Allow to Record High-Resolution, High-Sensitivity Spectra of Alpha-Synuclein in Bacterial Cells Studies of intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) under physiological conditions by conventional NMR methods based on proton detection are severely limited by fast proton amide solvent exchange. Carbon detection has been proposed as a solution to the exchange problem but is hampered by low sensitivity. Here, we present a protocol combining proton-nitrogen cross-polarization and carbonyl detection to record high-resolution...

Ergodicity and efficiency of cross-polarization in NMR of static solids.
Ergodicity and efficiency of cross-polarization in NMR of static solids. Ergodicity and efficiency of cross-polarization in NMR of static solids. J Magn Reson. 2011 Apr;209(2):161-6 Authors: Nevzorov AA Cross-polarization transfer is employed in virtually every solid-state NMR experiment to enhance magnetization of low-gamma spins. Theory and experiment is used to assess the magnitude of the final quasistationary magnetization amplitude. The many-body density matrix equation is solved for relatively large (up to N=14) spin systems without the...
