Postdoc (2 years) in MAS-DNP - CEA (Grenoble/France)
Dear colleagues,We have an opening for a postdoctoral fellowship in MAS-DNP NMR at the Institute for Nanosciences and Cryogenics (CEA - Commissariat Ã* l'Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives) / University of Grenoble). Starting date: before the end of 2012.The lab is equipped with a state of the art Bruker MAS-DNP system (400 MHz / 263 GHz) and is currently running a program to access MAS temperatures < 100 K. The lab also hosts a second 400 MHz system equipped with 1.3 / 2.5 / 3.2 / 4 mm probes and can access high field instruments through the French TGIR framework (http://www.tgir-rmn.org/). Access to 9 GHz EPR is possible in the lab and access to high field EPR instruments is also possible on campus (collaboration with LNCMI/CNRS, Grenoble).Researchers with a strong background or interest in Dynamic Nuclear Polarization / NMR methodology and its application to bio-molecules/materials are particularly welcome to apply. This fellowship is funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR). The initial duration is 12 months with an additional 12 months extension upon results. For further information regarding details of the research and of the appointment, interested candidates should contact me directly at gael.depaepe@cea.fr.Gaël De Paëpe

PhD/PostDoc Zürich
A PhD and a Postdoc position are available in the group of Oliver Zerbe in Zurich. You will be working on a collaborative and highly interdisciplinary effort to create repeat proteins that serve as binders to extended peptides. Participating groups on the campus are from the field of protein design, crystallography and computational (modelling) sciences. The project has entered its second phase and many highly interesting data have been already derived and much has been achieved already. Both the graduate student as well as the Postdoc will be working in biochemistry (protein expression and purification, in particular protein ligation techniques) and NMR spectroscopy/structure determination. Knowledge in protein structure determination by NMR and good biochemical skills are required for the Postdoc position. Candidates on this very interdisciplinary project will have access to state-of-the-art NMR facilities and biochemistry labs at the University of Zurich. Anyone with a strong interest in protein design and NMR is encouraged to apply. Positions are paid according to salaries from the Swiss National Science Foundation. Please provide a CV, a short description of your interests and the names and addresses of 2-3 references. Please feel free to contact me any time if you are interested. I will also be at the ICMRBS conference in Lyon and please talk to me there if you happen to be there and want to hear more about the project or our lab.
