what does splitting in a C-13 NMR spectra mean?

I know what splititng in a Proton NMR spectrum indicates, but if you see it in C13 NMR then what does that indicate?

what does splitting in a C-13 NMR spectra mean?

Normally 13 C NMR spectra are run proton decoupled to simplify the spectra and enhance the intensity of the peaks. However, the decoupler is set for protons not deuterons so you will see splitting for the solvent you are using like CDCl3 or d6DMSO etc
