Default Biophysics congress in Lisbon in July 2008 (0 replies)

Biophysics congress in Lisbon in July 2008 (0 replies)

We would like to remind you about the 1st Portuguese-Spanish-British Biophysical Congress, which will take place at Parque das Nações, in
Lisbon, between 10th and 13th July 2008. This is the first time that we are organising a joint congress with these three Biophysical Societies and we think that this scientific reunion will be quite interesting and stimulating. I would like to invite you to visit the web page of the Congress and to register at the same time. The deadline to submit abstracts is June, 8th, 2008, so you need to hurry up and register.
Biophysical greetings
Cláudio M. Soares
Chairman of the Portuguese Biophysical Society

Post-Doc fellowship in NMR Methods to Study Ionic Solids/liquids - Univ. of Aveiro/Lisbon (Portugal)
Post-Doc fellowship in NMR Methods to Study Ionic Solids/liquids - Univ. of Aveiro/Lisbon (Portugal) A 1-year postdoctoral position is available starting from January 2011, (extendable for additional 12 months) to study the “solid structure” of ionic liquids (ILs) and ionic solids (ISs) with relevance to the pharmaceutical industry. The research will be centred in the use of NMR techniques in tandem with molecular modelling to study the physical chemistry of molecular interactions in ILs and ISs. The project will be performed at the NMR centres at the Universities of Aveiro (solid state...

[Nature network NMR forum] NMR, Biophysics, or Structural Biology Blogs (3 replies)
NMR, Biophysics, or Structural Biology Blogs (3 replies) Hello All, I get the feeling that most physical/biological science types don’t keep blogs as much as other disciplines, although I would be happy if I am completely mistaken in this. That being said, does anyone have any suggestions of individuals’ or groups’ blogs about NMR specifically, but more broadly about biophysics, or structural biology, or anything along those lines? The only things I have found to follow are Sandwalk , Everyday Scientist , Chemical Musings , and the Disgruntled and Skeptical chemists. All...

EMBO NMR Practical Course 2008
2008 EMBO World Practical Course: Structure determination of biological macromolecules by solution NMR Mon September 8 - Mon September 15 2008 The Beijing NMR Center, Peking University, Beijing, China The intention of the course is to provide practical training in important aspects of structure determination by NMR. The emphasis will be on setting up experiments on the spectrometer (optimizing parameters, pulse programs), on processing and analyzing the NMR data and on structure calculations in a hands-on fashion. It is impossible to also teach all the necessary theoretical...
