Default [NMR] Dr. Ieva Goldberga | 10th DNP/NMR Educational Tutorial on July 10

From The DNP-NMR Blog:

[NMR] Dr. Ieva Goldberga | 10th DNP/NMR Educational Tutorial on July 10

Dear NMR Enthusiast,

The 10th Educational Tutorial will be given by Dr. Ieva Goldberga, a postdoc in Prof. Danielle Laurencin's lab at University of Montpellier on the topic:

"Relaxation-assisted spectral editing in solid-state NMR spectroscopy of biological materials”.

Abstract:
Relaxation analysis in heterogeneous systems can be complicated due to overlapping resonances. In this tutorial, we will consider the use of the inverse Laplace transform to process biexponential relaxation decays to extract information from complex unresolved spectra. The first part will cover ILT and its use in NMR spectroscopy; the second part will consider this methodology in biological materials: collagen and bone.

Speaker's biography:

2015: MChem, University of Southampton (Dr. Marina Carravetta)
2020: PhD Chemistry, University of Cambridge (Prof. Melinda J. Duer)
2019- present: Postdoc at University of Montpellier (Dr. Danielle Laurencin)

Here are the webinar details:
Time: Friday, July 10, 2020, 08:30 AM California or 5:30 PM Paris or 9:00 PM Delhi

Happy 4th of July
From The DNP-NMR Blog: Happy 4th of July I grew up in Germany and the biggest bummer was when a Holiday fell on a weekend day, because that day off was gone. Not so in the US. I don't know how many other countries follow the same rule but if a Holiday falls on a weekend day you either have the Friday or the Monday off. So day off for me today, and a Happy 4th of July to all my American friends - enjoy the fireworks. Cheers, Thorsten

[U. of Ottawa NMR Facility Blog] Educational NMR App for the iPad
Educational NMR App for the iPad Tim Burrow from the NMR Facility of the University of Toronto has released a free iPad app called "Learn NMR FID" highlighting the key concepts for processing NMR data. The app presents the user with the FID and NMR spectrum of a two peak spectrum. The controls of the app allow the user to interactively change the frequencies of and coupling between the resonances, the apodization function, phase, zero filling, noise, number of scans etc... while observing changes in the real and imaginary FIDs and Fourier transformed spectrum....
