http://www.spectroscopynow.com/commo...3da7b35fbf.jpgThe active ingredients in some commercially available mouthwash solution, the bisbiguanide oral disinfectants chlorhexidine (Chlorhexamed, Chlorhexal, Periogard, Corsodyl, and Chlorohex) and alexidine (Esemdent) have been in widespread use for many years. Now, 1H,15N-HSQC NMR spectroscopy has been used in studies to investigate the structural changes these compounds can induce that lead to apoptosis in oral cancer cells.
