Protein NMR Spectroscopy: Principles and Practice
By John Cavanagh, Wayne J. Fairbrother, III, Arthur G. Palmer, Nicholas J. Skelton, Mark Rance (2006)

Amazon book description
Protein NMR Spectroscopy combines a comprehensive theoretical treatment of NMR spectroscopy with an extensive exposition of the experimental techniques applicable to proteins and other biological macromolecules in solution. Beginning with simple theoretical models and experimental techniques, Protein NMR Spectroscopy develops the complete repertoire of theoretical principles and experimental techniques necessary for understanding and implementing the most sophisticated NMR experiments.

Important new techniques and applications of NMR spectroscopy have emerged since the first edition of this extremely successful book was published in 1996. The second edition includes new sections describing measurement and use of residual dipolar coupling constants for structure determination, TROSY and deuterium labeling for application to large macromolecules, and experimental techniques for characterizing conformational dynamics. In addition, the treatments of instrumentation and signal acquisition, field gradients, multidimensional spectroscopy, and structure calculation are updated and enhanced.

Protein NMR Spectroscopy is written as a graduate-level textbook and will be of interest to biochemists, chemists, biophysicists, and structural biologists who utilize NMR spectroscopy or who wish to understand the latest developments in this field.

· Provides an understanding of the theoretical principles important for biological NMR spectroscopy
· Demonstrates how to implement, optimize and troubleshoot modern multi-dimensional NMR experiments
· Allows for the capability of designing effective experimental protocols for investigations of protein structures and dynamics
· Includes a comprehensive set of example NMR spectra of ubiquitin provides a reference for validation of experimental methods

From the Back Cover
Protein NMR Spectroscopy: Principles and Practice combines a comprehensive theoretical treatment of high resolution NMR spectroscopy with an extensive exposition of the experimental techniques applicable to proteins and other biological macromolecules. Beginning with simple theoretical models and experimental techniques, Protein NMR Spectroscopy: Principles and Practice develops the complete repertoire of theoretical principals and experimental practices necessary for understanding and implementing the most sophisticated NMR experiments. Protein NMR Spectroscopy: Principles and Practice is written as a graduate-level textbook and will be of particular interest to biochemists, chemists, biophysicists, and structural biologists who utilize NMR spectroscopy as a research tool or who wish to remain abreast of the latest developments in this increasingly important area.

Protein NMR - A Practical Guide - Solution NMR Assignment - Practice
Below is a Google-cached version of Protein NMR - A Practical Guide - Solution NMR Assignment - Practice page from www.protein-nmr.org.uk that went down on 11/6/11. You may want to check first if the site has been restored since it would also display images or/and have a more updated info. Assignment - Practice (for Analysis 2.1) This section describes how the assignment principles described under Assignment - Theory can be but put into practice using the CCCPNmr Analysis software. There are several ways in which triple resonance backbone assignment, in particular, can be approached...

[NMR900 blog] John A. Weil (1929-2010)
John A. Weil (1929-2010) Colleagues, It is with sadness that we inform you that John A. Weil, Professor Emeritus of Chemistry and Physics at the University of Saskatchewan, died last Wednesday, November 17, 2010 in Saskatoon at the age of 81. John Weil was a well-known EPR personality, not only in Canada but also world-wide, who made many significant contributions to the theory and practice of magnetic resonance. He was a wonderful mentor and friend. He will be greatly missed. John's family is planning a memorial reception to honor his life. You are welcome to attend the reception...

Palmer III, Nicholas J. Skelton; Academic Press (November 17, 1995), ISBN: 0121644901. Was it useful? Easy or too difficult to read? How well does it cover the topic? Do you agree with the following feedback about this book that was posted on Amazon.com "Reviewer: kai zhong (Stony Brook, USA) The book is very complete, covers most of the field in protein NMR studies. The book is well...
